I qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2002 and after initial registration moved to Oxford to undertake GP training, qualifying in 2007. I spent a few years as a GP in Oxfordshire before family moves led me back to my roots in Gloucestershire.
I am currently embracing a portfolio career, with roles in GP education, NHS practice at a busy semi-rural dispensing practice in Gloucestershire, and a developing interest in private healthcare. I feel this will allow me to refocus my career on ‘old fashioned’ general practice providing the continuity of care and holistic approach to well-being I feel passionate about.
My clinical Interests include Family healthcare, family planning (including IUD fitting and subcutaneous contraceptive implant insertion), mental health and post-viral syndromes.
Having been brought up in Nailsworth until aged 7, I never expected to return here as an adult but the hills drew me home in 2010. Away from work, I am married with 2 sons and I enjoy regular exercise and relaxing with yarn: knitting or crochet can usually be found somewhere near me! I love to read and try to marry my reading to my love of professional education and development, bringing CPD out of entertainment.
