Dr Ruth Gleeson

Before becoming a doctor, I completed a BSc and MSc in Biology at Birmingham and Oxford Universities. Although I loved my studies, I decided a career in the lab wasn't for me and I soon returned to Birmingham to study medicine.

I went on to do hospital foundation training in London and then joined the Guy's and St Thomas's GP training scheme. I worked as an NHS GP in South East London for several years before leaving for the greener pastures of the South West.

I have been working as a private GP since 2020 and enjoy the luxury of time with patients it brings, together with the typical variety and unpredictability of general practice, which make it so interesting.

Outside of work I spend as much time with family and friends as possible and love travelling, gardening and baking.
